CASK ALE SHOWCASE 2007

June 16th, 2007

THE HALFWAY HOUSE has been a long time settling its 2007 CASK ALE SHOWCASE. The choice of really great real ales in Scotland has reached an all-time high both in number and quality which makes it harder than ever to select the seven brewers that will make the chosen few for the Summer seven weeks this year. We always like to give a new brewer a chance in the selected seven and, this year, we will start with Davy Orr’s “An Teallach” brewery from up by Ullapool in the week commencing 14 July. Davy has been supplying the pub for several years but this will be the first time that his beers have featured in the Showcase. For the second week, we welcome back Houston, for the first time for several years and, in the week from from 4 August, Rob Hill, winner of Champion Beer of Scotland with “Dark Munro,” will be offering his spectacularly good ales. To finish up this year, we will welcome another new brewery, the Strathaven Brewery for the week from 25 August.
